Just the title of this tag on Lil’s blog made me jump over straight away. This couldn’t be more my thing and these topics are something I want to discuss more on my blog. I did a similar tag before called the Self Esteem Tag so I would love it if you checked that out too.
We’re talking about ‘loving the skin you’re in’.
I have to give a massive thank you to Lil for tagging me in this and essentially creating a boss ass tag. Her post is here.
- Thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog in your post
- Display the “love the skin you’re in” image.
- Be truthful when answering the questions and don’t judge what other people have answered in their posts.
- If you want to add any questions to this tag related to body positivity feel free to.
- Try to nominate as many people as you can, if not everyone.
One feature you love about yourself? I answered this as my eyes in the Self Esteem Tag but I honestly don’t know. I am struggling with this. At the moment, in my current frame of mind I don’t think I could write something down and it be truly honest and that’s not what this blog is about – I am 100% open with you guys. So, nope, right now, I don’t love any of my features but I am working on it.
One feature you wish/wished you could change that you are trying to accept or have accepted? I think I would choose the colour of my hair or my freckles. I have had people shout at me and intimidate me in public places because of my hair that made me feel terrible. I grew up with very few people in the public eye/celebrity realm that looked like me and I found it incredibly hard. I am trying to embrace it and ironically enough, my hair is something I get positive comments on now on a weekly basis – crazy how you remember the negative comments more though. I do wish I had clear skin with just a scattering of freckles on my arms the most though, I’m not a fan of it on me.
Have you ever thought of getting surgery to change you imperfections? Yep. I would like to get laser eye surgery as I don’t particularly enjoy wearing glasses daily and seeing my eyesight deteriorate! I have considered a breast enhancement too. I am pear shaped and although I am doing my best to embrace how I look, I would feel massively different if I just had an extra cup size or 2 to help out. I feel like if this is still something that weighs me down in years to come, it will become a serious consideration.
One of your main role models for body positivity? I have a few! I love Gracie (@GraceFVictory on Twitter) because she keeps it real and is just fantastic. She doesn’t pretend or apologise for how she looks. She owns it. I love her confidence and I admire her honesty with those that follow her. She’s someone I would love as a friend!
Has a family member or friend ever put you down about your physical appearance? If so what for? Yeah I have had comments from family members but never ones from friends that have stuck with me anyway. Normally it is comments about my legs as (because I am pear shaped) I have larger legs than my torso. I say larger loosely as I am still only a size UK 8 which isn’t large in the slightest.
Something you love about your fashion sense or style? That some colours just look bomb on redheads and I love it. I have really embraced red, khaki and white this season because I feel like it just complements my hair perfectly.
Why is your body a great place to be? Right now, it probably isn’t but I am determined to have a different answer to this in the future.
Everyone! I feel like this is such an eye opening and important tag and I would absolutely love and recommend that anybody who wants to, does it!
