20 Blog Post Ideas

It is so easy to get stuck for ideas for blog posts to keep things unique and interesting. I thought I would share some of my favourites that I have done myself or just ones I think are really interesting to read.

  1. Monthly goals (here & here) and a reflection post at then end of the month
  2. A ‘Get To Know Me‘ tag – perfect for new bloggers
  3. What’s in my bag?
  4. Share a routine – morning skincare, weekend, food, workout, evening skincare – people love to be a little nosey!
  5. Favourites – blogs, Instagram people/posts, makeup, places to visit – again, possibilities are endless for favourites and it’s nice to see them pop up more often and with slightly different content then just an end of the month favourites that people know and love.
  6. A quick DIY – Pinterest is filled with different ideas to try out. Any that you’re successful with and love you can share to all your followers. My Pinterest DIY board is here for any inspiration. Also, any hilarious DIY fails are worth mentioning too. A lot of YouTube videos have surfaced in the past year about ridiculously difficult Pinterest DIYs that are great entertainment!
  7. Any advice that you have learnt or received and want to share with others. This could be about mental health (some ideas here and here) or any makeup tips and tricks you have recently come to love.
  8. A Month in Photos‘ – this is a great way to look back and talk about the exciting things you’ve done in a month.
  9. Who Inspires You? My post is here
  10. An A-Z of‘ – these are challenging and fun to read as obviously some letters have limited scope and therefore it’s interesting to see what people come up with. I’ve seen some great A-Zs on travel, makeup products and brands to try out and wacky Pinterest DIYs.
  11. Wish Lists – these are great all year. You could do a monthly wish list of all the things you’re eyeing up or you could run them by themes. A Travel Wish List (mine is here) is also fun as I think it tells you a lot about a person. I also love reading ones about things in particular – such as PJ shirts and over the knee boots.
  12. High Street vs High End – some of my favourite posts! IntheFrow on YouTube does some great outfit versus videos and I think it’s amazing to see how items change from runway to high street. You can do the same for makeup too and compare the quality and lasting power of different priced items.
  13. First Impressions – these makeup posts are always very telling and provide great advice to your readers.
  14. 10 Things to be Happy About‘ – a handy reminder for yourself and other people (I did a similar post here)
  15. Throwback – throwback makeup styles of yourself and others, a great holiday adventure you went on, your style evolution, music tastes… People love looking back on what they used to love and reminiscing!
  16. Life Hacks – my post is here
  17. How Much is Your Face Worth? This was a real eye-opener when I did this! You basically add up the cost of all your makeup products and see how much it gets to. You could do the same with hair or an outfit – or even everything combined for a real shock factor! My post is here
  18. Feature a guest post from someone you really admire and would like to promote their content further. I was lucky enough to have 2 guest posts recently! (here and here)
  19. Post about why you started blogging or what you have learnt so far. It is always really interesting to see people evolve and grow over time.
  20. Finally, something really personal never goes amiss. Dreams and goals you have for the next 5 years, what you have learnt so far in life (mine is here), any regrets you have. Opening up to your audience can make you extremely easy to relate to and ‘human’.

I hope this was an interesting and helpful blog post! I’m tempted to do a few of these myself that I have yet to try.

These are all great ideas thank you! I especially love the A-Z one; I’ve seen some bloggers doing it as a ‘get to know me’ post, which was really fun to read. Monthly photos is always a lovely one to look through, and monthly goals and a reflection afterwards would make such a nice way to keep track of your blog and/or personal life! Brilliant post as always 💕 xxx
