I can’t quite believe that I have been blogging for one whole year now – how time flies!
I feel like in 12 months I have gained so many friendships, got to speak to people from all different walks of life and really gain confidence in writing things I am interested in and passionate about.
I wanted to look back over the past year by mentioning some of my milestones and favourites that have occurred.
My favourite three posts
The first one I have to mention is the Love The Skin You’re In Tag. I really enjoyed writing this up as I felt like I got to openly admit how I feel about my appearance and be honest about the hang ups and insecurities I have. It felt quite therapeutic to divulge it all and I think it helped me a lot. I absolutely love that I have seen several people do the tag since I encouraged everyone to take part and seeing other people’s answers to personal questions is really interesting.
Secondly, I have to mention my Bucket List. Now this wasn’t the most unique post or one that took me days to photograph but I absolutely love how it all came together. I spent quite a few days slowly adding to my list until I compiled over 100 things. Then came the editing! I decided to settle on 100 and included some things that were definitely on my bucket list but I have already ticked off. In fact, since posting I have ticked off something else which is cool! I basically loved the final outcome and how it gives me something to look back on and keep updating as time goes on.
Another post I loved was my Contraceptive Pill Experience. The only topic that is “taboo” or generates a lot of discussion that I have featured on my blog is my mental health related posts so this was quite a step out of my comfort zone. The fact that so many people used the comment section as a space to unload anxieties about their contraception, their good and bad experiences and advice was just incredible. I was totally overwhelmed by people’s stories and choice to come forward and I can only imagine how much that could just help one person who is looking for advice on contraception and turns to blogs to help them. I feel like that comment section was a perfect example of the blogging community doing its best!
My most liked post
I recently discovered that my most liked post is my Fashion Pinterest Inspiration post that I did a little while back now. I absolutely loved putting this post together and compiling pins of all the latest trends that I am obsessed with. Everyone really seemed to enjoy this so I recently made a similar one for more transitional and Autumn/Winter trends. That post, stats wise, is currently sitting on 335 likes which is just waaa?! mindblown!
My most proud moments
I have two moments that I can narrow it down to. Seeing the final two images of my 1000 follower collages was pretty amazing as I got to put some faces to names I see often and that totally amazed me. I felt proud that I had somehow managed to get people to enjoy the crap I write about!
I also felt pretty proud after seeing the lengthy discussions and people sharing their experiences on my Contraceptive Pill Experience post. As I mentioned, this just felt like a great coming together of experiences and I was proud that I managed to get such a fantastic and overwhelming response to it.
Thank you so much for inspiring me to write and allowing this blog to reach its one year birthday. I cannot tell you guys how much I love you in just this space. I suppose this is perfect timing to announce that my giveaway will be my next post so stay tuned!
