My Pinterest Obsession | Dream Home

I saw Angela’s post a while ago titled Dream Home and I felt inspired to give you guys an idea of what my dream home would look like too.

As you most likely know by now, I am a huge lover of Pinterest! I have done a few posts before if you wanted to check those out. I posted about Flat Lays which went down amazingly well with you guys(!), Travel, and Office Space – as well as themed Valentine’s Day and Christmas ones too.

Bedroom

I am loving whites, greys and pinks in bedrooms at the moment which you can probably tell from these photos! Also, I have really got in to plants and succulents recently and I think they’re the perfect addition to a home – and it’s sometimes nice to break up the monochromatic colour scheme. Anything with fairy lights is a must from me too.

Bathroom

Shock horror – some more white and grey! I think these slogan bath mats are just brilliant and I have seen some in both Primark and Urban Outfitters recently. I am generally more of a bath person but I can’t deny that big, waterfall showers with lots of marble tiles are just ridiculously aesthetically pleasing! Again, I really like the splash of green with the plants, I think it warms up the rather clinic looking white at times. I also think there is something about dark grey that really suits bathrooms…. I don’t know why!

Kitchen

Little bit more colour in this one! I have seen these hexagon tiles everywhere at the moment and I think they look so chic in bathrooms and kitchens. I also love the idea of using open cupboards or exposed shelves to store things on – I think it looks great and is also a nice way of ensuring you keep things clean and tidy and avoid clutter. I love copper too so any way that I can sneak it in to my home is right up my street!

Living Room

I have always been obsessed with grey, raised sofas so of course I had to feature those! I like more patterns when it comes to living rooms – patterned, vintage rugs and cushions for example look amazing and are great at creating a homely space. I also have been loving mustard yellow as a pop of colour when using a lot of grey! Finally, I think photo or print walls look amazing in living rooms – I think it is one of the most social areas of the house and so should look one of the best too; something I think photo/print walls are great at as they totally capture someone’s personality.

Did you like anything I included? What would you pick in your dream home?

I can easily tell why everyone is obsessed with it at the moment! xxx

I love the bed by the window and the delicate fairy lights, looks so fresh with the white against black colour scheme too! x

I love lots of windows and white because it can make the smallest room look so bright and airy! You can never go wrong with fairy lights too, I love things looking cosy at night 🙂 So glad you liked it! xxx

I really like your ideas Ella! That mat in the bathroom gave me a chuckle XD
I love the idea of those lights hanging around the bedroom. A neutral colour scheme is also a good idea, it can work with anything, so whatever is in your room will match with it. I also like those hexagon tiles in the kitchen, I also see lots of shelves! They look cool, but for me, I’d prefer a pantry, or you know lower shelves, cause I’m tiny.

    • May 27, 2017 / 9:08 pm

Isn’t the mat fantastic! Haha, I loved it so much!
I’m obsessed with neutrals because it is so easy to add colour here and there when your tastes/seasons change – rather than being stuck with yellow walls and red sofas! Haha. I love the hexagon tiles too, something a little different! Oh gosh I am so small too, they’re not the most practical of ideas… I must admit! Hahah xxx

I’ve been into plants so much. I have them in almost every room in the house, including the bathroom. I’m into grey a lot too, we’re painting a wall in our bedroom in the Summer. We’re divided between grey and a dry green we’ve seen around. I have fairy lights on a bookshelf in the living room but I don’t think Rui likes them much lol

    • May 28, 2017 / 2:20 pm

Thank you so much, all courtesy of Angela I must admit!! I have always loved interior design, it has been a big passion of mine but I feel like I would suck at it for a living because I would want everything my own style haha xxx

  6. May 28, 2017 / 3:21 am

Totally agree with your statement about grey in the bathroom–it’s still clean and refined, but not as cold as white. I also love all the plants in the photos! I plan on having lots of plants in my next apartment.

    • May 28, 2017 / 2:19 pm

Yes! Exactly why I love it! Yeah I love the plants (I would suck at keeping them alive I’m sure – fake ones ftw) just to add some life and colour where I keep everything else neutral! I really love hanging plants, I think they look super cool xx

      • May 28, 2017 / 8:06 pm

I agree! I have a terrible green thumb, but I may be able to keep succulents alive! Hanging plants do look very boho and neat I think I might like a mini palm tree!

        • May 29, 2017 / 1:40 pm

Oh my gosh yes, that sounds amazing! I have always wanted a Bonsai tree but I would be terrified that I would kill it 🙁 xxx

  7. May 28, 2017 / 6:31 am

It looks like we have similar tastes 🙂 I love neutrals but I’ve been loving vibrant colors as well. My dream home would definitely have that shade of grey In a couple of the rooms.

    • May 28, 2017 / 2:16 pm

Ahh that is so cool! That’s why I love neutrals though – so easy to throw in some amazing colours alongside it! xx
