I have been using my Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturiser for so long now and it finally ran out about 2 weeks ago! When I was in London with Adam, I decided to look in LUSH and pick myself up some goodies.
On First Glance
The Skin Drink moisturiser is relatively small, it’s just 45g, and it has a little bit of a weird smell to it – although I still can’t figure out what the hell it is! This is rated 4.1 on LUSH and claims to be packed full of nourishing oils to protect your skin and leave it soft and supple – just what I needed really. It costs £14.95 which is about the same as the Body Shop one and what I have come to terms is a decent amount to spend to get a good face moisturiser sigh.
The Mask of Magnaminty is much bigger, it’s 125g, and the bluey-grey mask smells very pepperminty. It’s rated 4.7 on LUSH and it seems to be a jack of all trades that is supposed to leave your skin exfoliated, refreshed and tackle outbreaks. Safe to say I was very excited to try this out! It costs £6.50 for the 125g and considering how little you need I feel like it is going to last me a long time.
I have been using the Skin Drink twice a day since I bought it and I would say that even though I have incredibly dry skin and need as much natural oils and butters as I can, this is a little heavy for a night cream. It claims not to leave a ‘greasy’ feel but I do feel that it does so I don’t think it necessarily lives up to this claim. If you hate that kind of thing, The Body Shop Vitamin E moisturiser doesn’t have this greasy feel but it definitely isn’t as strong a moisturiser as the LUSH one. My skin does feel great and I am loving it, I guess the greasy feel is something I have to deal with to get the hydrating moisture that I’m after. I rate this 4.2/5 and I think I would definitely repurchase this.
I have only tried the mask a handful of times but I am already really impressed with it. I love that you don’t need very much at all so the 125g is enough to last a long time. The smell is quite strong but it’s not bad so you can sit back and enjoy smelling like a tube of Colgate toothpaste! The exfoliating element is also really nice and my skin felt super soft after. You did also get the little ‘sting’ of it working on breakouts which I weirdly enjoy – maybe because I think it’s working? I loved this so I’m going to rate it 4.5/5. Even though I love it, I don’t know if I would repurchase as I love trying out different face masks.
Have you ever tried either of these products? Do you have any favourites from LUSH?
