My Pet Peeves

pet peeves

I haven’t done a light-hearted and jokey post in so long so I thought to mix it up I would do a little post about my pet peeves. These are all for fun and there is no harm intended by any of them at all.

  • Stickers on the bottom of shoes – although I am guilty of this one myself sometimes
  • Tights that always fall down so you have to hoist them up in the most delicate and feminine manner you can in a populated area
  • People who let the door shut in your face rather than hold it open
  • People who don’t even smile when you’ve opened the door for them
  • Essentially smoking in to someone’s face without asking if it’s okay to smoke around them
  • Drivers who don’t wait for people at zebra crossings
  • People who cut in lines. I am British and I demand that you queue
  • People who say ‘lol’ or other abbreviations in real life always make me laugh (one of my friends who reads this blog does this haha!)
  • Hearing people bite their nails
  • Dog owners who let their fluffy friends poo on the path and just leave it
  • To support another one of my friends – people who choose gluten-free as a lifestyle and diet choice without medical justification or because of intolerance.
  • People who bend the pages in books
  • People who write in books – text books I can just about handle!
  • People who break the spine on books
  • Bad grammar – although this grinds my gears, we all do it. I mean I probably have in this post alone!
  • Huge ad breaks on TV or YouTube videos
  • Being spoken over, whether it be in a debate or normal conversation
  • When the bus driver sees you running but pulls away anyway
  • People who don’t indicate when driving
  • Just the term “yummy mummy”
  • Nasssty public toilets, do you people not flush at home either?
  • Parking in a disabled bay when you are not registered disabled or with someone who is
  • Parking across two car spaces, especially during a busy period
  • Driving in the fast lane on the motorway when there are no other cars present
  • People who throw rubbish out the window of a car, or just littering in general really!

Please remember that all of these comments were just for fun and it would be great to see if you guys relate to any of these or have some of your own to mention!

I agree with 100% of these, especially the bad grammar part!

Thank you so much for commenting! I am the worst for critiquing it but we all do it so I know I shouldn’t say anything aha x

Ha ha! Quite a few I can relate to-I saw a beautifully-turned out business lady in town, wearing lovely shoes-caught sight of the underneath AND SHE LEFT THE LABELS ON! Awful…hate nail biters too. And people who spit in the street…vile…

    • April 2, 2017 / 1:30 pm

This made me laugh so much! Maybe she wanted people to know she had just bought some lovely new shoes that cost a lot… who knows! Oh I forgot that one, I hate that so much x

      • April 2, 2017 / 7:49 pm

I know..and then it puts you in a dilemma because do you tell the lady…would she be upset she hadn’t noticed..or as you say, just showing off! Lol 🙂 x

I love this kind of nice moral dilemmas!! Hahah xx

I can relate to a lot of these 🙂
Especially the tights, I hate when they fall slightly and get baggy, and you have to think about how to subtly (and ladylike) pull them right back up XD
I’ll also add, that a random pet peeve of mine is people who group together in sidewalks (especially busy ones) to have a nice leisurely chat, when people are clearly trying to get by.

    • April 2, 2017 / 1:32 pm

I love seeing people attempt to do it without getting noticed too – always makes me giggle!! Oh gosh, yes! I completely forgot about that. I always feel rude asking to get by and with my luck it’s ALWAYS down a street where you can’t just walk on the road round them haha! Thank you so much for stopping by xx

Totally relate! Especially those who bend pages of books when they can use bookmarks instead.

    • April 2, 2017 / 1:29 pm

I have such a protective ‘thing’ over books, haha! So glad you agree too x

  5. April 2, 2017 / 6:28 am

Some very good picks here, and many that equally grind my gears!!

    • April 2, 2017 / 1:23 pm

So glad you agree!! What’s your worst pet peeve?? xx

  6. April 2, 2017 / 9:34 am

I especially hate the people who park in disabled spaces without a permit. There should be some type of fine/consequence.

    • April 2, 2017 / 1:22 pm

It really irks me!! Nobody ever seems to get reprimanded for using them and I don’t think it’s fair as there is often only a handful of them available ughhhh haha! xx

  7. April 2, 2017 / 9:35 am

Related to far too many of these aha 🙂 x

  8. April 2, 2017 / 3:04 pm

Completely agree with these! I hate it when you’re in the cinema and people are still opening sweet wrappers when the film is starting

    • April 2, 2017 / 3:07 pm

Oooooh that is another good one! I have been chuckling away at all the comments about other people’s pet peeves! Thank you for commenting xx

Your blog is so cute! I love this read too. I agree with most of these but the gluten-free lifestyle I don’t UNDERSTAND WHY??? I have a good friend who is allergic to gluten and I feel so bad for her, cause I’m here eating something with flour and she can’t and I’m O NO I’M SORRY 🙁 but you have people that avoid gluten on purpose like ????

    • April 2, 2017 / 5:45 pm

Thank you so much lovely! It has been glamorised so much that my friend can’t always afford substitutes due to the price hike over it being a diet trend and she’s often asked about it just being a diet? Like noooo she doesn’t have a choice!! She’s intolerant you fools!! Crazy isn’t it xx

  10. April 2, 2017 / 6:07 pm

Oh, dear Ella. We share a bunch!!

  11. April 2, 2017 / 6:35 pm

Defo can relate. My worst one is listening to people eat, makes me go from normal to serial killer in 0.2 seconds

    • April 2, 2017 / 6:41 pm

This made me laugh! One of my friends at university has the same – she can’t bear it in the library that’s for sure Haha xx

      • April 2, 2017 / 6:43 pm

Hahaha it’s so annoying! Breathing is the same. It’s so weird how different people are bugged by different things 😂xx

  12. April 3, 2017 / 5:07 am

Line cutting is the worst! I always get so nervous whenever I’m in line and a friend leaves to go do something else, because I know what it’ll look like to other people when they rejoin. The worst is just blatant line cutting, though, where people don’t even try to pretend they aren’t doing it!

    • April 3, 2017 / 5:24 pm

Oh my gosh I feel exactly the same! I always am over apologetic if I have to be the person to leave and come back or… I accept fate and just go to the back like the good little British person I am! Haha, I get so quietly angry when people cut in!! xx

  13. April 3, 2017 / 5:15 pm

Haha I pretty much agree with all of these! Going abroad is so difficult when you are the only person who queues politely! And yesssss to all the ones about books – book deserve respect! <3 Haha xxx

    • April 3, 2017 / 5:23 pm

Hahaha other people must think we are crazy with our queues! I’m so glad you agree with me haha, I love people’s responses to this post! xxxx

  14. April 5, 2017 / 1:01 am

haha, this was cute and fun to read. I Laughed out loud when i read the part when people say ‘LOL’ or any form of abbreviation. i was like shit, me tooo!
