Is Blue Eyeshadow for Me? | Sleek Storm Palette

blue eyes

I posted my thoughts about the Sleek Storm Palette with my favourite look a while ago and I mentioned how I was reluctant to try the bold and darker colours. I realised I was barely using half the palette by not being adventurous, so I decided to try something a little different for me – blue eyeshadow – and show you how it turned out!

What I Used

I used only two colours from the palette which is great in terms of how easy and quick it was to put together. I used the blue that is 2nd from the bottom (see below) all over my lid and the darker blue which is 3rd from the top (see below) in the crease to smoke it out slightly. They are both shimmer shades but the navy blue shade is less so which made it a perfect darker colour for the crease. I have to admit, I really love how the Storm palette makes it super simple to put together an eye look. I feel like I see tonnes of YouTubers and bloggers who do amazing looks that require so much so just 2 colours was right up my street!

The Outcome

Like the last look, I waited around 2 hours until I took a photo to see how it lasted. This look actually had significantly better staying power than the pink look which was really surprising! And believe it or not, I actually loved it! I did do this look on a day where I felt pretty confident as it was something totally new for me but as much as I convinced myself that people would think I looked a little cuckoo, they didn’t (obviously!). I really liked how it turned our and I have worn it since a few times too so maybe it was worth stepping outside my comfort zone for once.

What do you guys think? Would you try a bold blue eye look?

I think this looks lush! I used to wear eyeshadow like this quite a lot, and used to go for darker shades. I think that now that I’m older, and I look super pale and my skin is still yuck, that I stay away from makeup because it makes me look even worse. I think you’ve done well stepping away from the comfort zone, it suits! x

Blue looks great on you! I think you could definitely work green too! By the way how do you get the “about me” widget with the photo and text about yourself? Thanks <3

Thank you so much! I thought about green because people always say green is a redhead’s colour so maybe that will be my next beauty post! I do a text post just for the about me bit which should be easy(ish) to find on customise then widgets/sidebar and for the photo, their is an option for it too but you need the URL (most times). The easiest way I found to do it is 1) upload a photo on to a blog post when writing it 2) click on edit 3) copy the URL and then paste it in to the required bit on the widget.
If that doesn’t make any sense or if you have any trouble comment again and I’ll send you some screenshots! Hope it helps xxx

aha that would be good thanks! And yeah I guess green does go with red hair, although maybe a red, orange and yellow blend could also work? (Thanks for giving me a follow too xx)
