I really hope you guys liked my post yesterday with my answers. I actually wrote out all the answers a few days ago and they didn’t save woe is me so this is my second attempt!
Why do you thing you have so many people? How did YOU get them? What so special about YOU? (I know this, because I follow you but would like to hear your perspective!) I thought about this question for a long time and I think I finally came to a conclusion. Although, I would really love to know what it is about my blog that you enjoy! I could be totally off the mark here. On my blog, I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not. No, I don’t have an amazing camera, use photoshop for amazing headers or have the money to splash out on looking professional. I don’t pretend to be a high-flying blogger who knows what they’re doing. I very much learn and discover as I go and I think it’s that what makes me “special” – a lot of people use blogging as a tool for something, to get somewhere with it. I just do it because I love it.
What’s your favorite part about blogging? What do you love about it? This is the easiest for me! It is the people, 100%. If I could bottle the kindness of the people and sell it, I would be a millionaire. Everyone is so encouraging and positive, it’s an amazing community.
What is next? What are your blogging goals? And dreams? I think I will have to wait and see with this one! My blog is one of the few aspects of my life where I don’t set as rigid, structured goals. I’m interested to see where it takes me, if it will keep growing or stagnate and whether I will invest some ££ in to making ellamaygarrett.com more personalised to me. I’m not sure at the moment though!
What are your job ambitions, and where would you like to live if you were to leave York?
I really want to become an events planner after university (something I am currently getting some experience in now!). If I couldn’t live in York and I had no money concerns, I would love to have an apartment in Paris or Barcelona but I wouldn’t want to live there permanently as I feel like it is very easy to forget to appreciate your beautiful surroundings. I love Cambridge too as it often reminds me of York and is close to home.
You’re smiling more in photographs which is great to see, so what’s your next personal goal of a similar nature? Thank you so much Caz! My next personal goal is to better my diet by I know this is a long term battle and an easy thing to change!
What’s your biggest regret in life? I don’t have very many regrets, I think everything happens for a reason. I do believe that I could have bettered my A Level results by attending a better sixth form.
What advises can you give to someone who’s starting a blog? I think holding off on spending money is incredibly important. For a huge percentage of bloggers, this is just a hobby that they love. But not everyone keeps their hobbies forever. For some it becomes a job which is amazing, and for others it comes to an end. You may find two months in to blogging that it isn’t actually for you and for many, buying a domain and more can become very expensive and therefore almost seems wasteful. I would say that it is best to wait to invest until you’re dedicated.
What would you say to someone who wants to give up (in blogging or anywhere) already? Think about your passions and the things you love discussing with others. If you love conversations about politics but you’re a fashion blog, maybe this is a path you should take instead. Don’t feel constrained to a niche and just write about the things you love!
What is your favourite motivation quote? At the moment it is the following:
I have a Pinterest board of quotes if you’re interested in seeing more of my favourites!
What is your passion? Planning events and organising! Luckily I can do my passion for a living and I’m hoping when I finish university I will be able to dive right in. Other than this, animal rights is another huge passion of mine and something I am really invested in.
How to help decide what you want to go to University/College for!? Maybe I should do a post on this! I haven’t done some student type posts for a while now. I think it is best to do something you love and I recommend looking up the modules they offer for the full three years. I know many people that loved one year at university but hated the others because the modules just didn’t suit them. I know that modules often change but it is always good to be well informed on what you want to do.
I hope you liked my answers! I loved doing this Q&A post and I will definitely do another one again some time if you guys would like that.
