This week I read so many posts that I loved so I found it really hard to narrow it down to a few! For some reason, a lot of deeper, more mindfulness type posts were popping up in my Reader and they’re actually one of my favourite posts to read as I feel like I am discovering more about what a person believes in or feels passionate about.
As well as mindfulness posts, blog tips are another favourite of mine as I still consider myself a real newbie with all this blogging melarkey. Jessica Riga did a fantastic post called 10 Blogging Questions To Ask Yourself Before Hitting Publish which I found so helpful and I have already bookmarked it to remember for every post! After I changed my Twitter name to ‘ellamaygarrett’ in an attempt to streamline all my social media, I realised the links were being copied across from old posts that had the old name on it without even realising so she definitely hit the nail on the head with her tips… It pays to proof read!
I love travel posts but that doesn’t necessarily have to mean going abroad, for me personally anyway. There are so many places in the UK that are gorgeous and I have embarrassingly yet to visit, including Bath. So when Kiya did a post filled with pictures of her Day Out in Bath I was super jealous. And now I really really want to go. Kiya included so much information about the day which is really useful when planning a trip and wanting to know more. Plus, the Roman Baths look amazing! All round a great post really.
Cat Flicks & Matte Lips did a fantastic blog post that I hadn’t heard of before and I loved the concept. It’s called an Anti Haul. For those of you that don’t know, it’s talking about new releases that you won’t be drooling over and waiting impatiently on their website to grab as soon as it’s released. It is crazy how many hyped beauty releases there are every month and rather than everyone climbing on the same bandwagon, it is kinda refreshing to see someone do otherwise.
I have been in the market for getting a new bronzer for a while but I didn’t really know any good budget ones to try out. Chloe from Marble Beauty did a great post this week about the Best Budget Bronzers and I couldn’t have clicked quicker! I have never tried Body Shop makeup, or MUA bronzers and now I have ordered a few to check out after she did such a great review of them all.
Now I was loving these mindfulness posts this week! Claire wrote a really touching post called Dear Body that really struck a chord with me and I got quite emotional reading it. Accepting how your body changes and develops is a really hard process for many of us and to see these thoughts written down so amazingly made it one of the best posts I have read in a long time!
This wasn’t the only post this week that really got to me. Chanelle did another fantastic one called Hey It’s Okay… Not To Have Many Friends which is part of a great series that she writes. Going to university was a massive social change for me and is something I am still struggling with now. As a problem that bothers me almost daily, seeing Chanelle write about it was amazing. It made it seem so very normal and ‘adult’, as most people say, to not be inundated with social events and rather quality is actually miles better than quantity.
I hope you liked the posts that I mentioned this week, it was super hard to narrow it down to just a few that’s for sure!
