Today is my second day of doing the Quote Per Day tag!
Like I said in my last post (here) I love quotes, and I have a dedicated board on Pinterest too if you were ever interested.
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and link back to their blog
2. Post one quote a day, for three consecutive days
3. Nominate three other blogs to pick up the challenge and run with it
4. Let your nominations know
“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful”
I think this quote does a great job at speaking for itself. Everyone loves a good, hearty, positive quote about life building and strength really.
In particular, this one struck me as it doesn’t seem patronising nor does it make me feel like if I am currently laying in bed then I am an unsuccessful person tut tut.
Rather it feels very grounding, yet uplifting at the same time. I think the use of “challenges” does this. It accepts that day to day we are faced with things that prevent us from acting or being how we want to and rather than just admitting defeat and letting life have its way with you (in a very negative sense) it refers to them as “interesting”. Few people would say that when something goes wrong in their day that it is “interesting”; they would rather use several swear words and a bundle of angry comments.
Looking at life from a different perspective is always important. I love those almost thought experiments when you realise: “If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world. If you have money in the bank, your wallet, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.” It is incredibly sobering to think of your life in comparison to others and even when things are bad, they’re not bad in the sense that it is for someone else.
Everyone can overcome the challenges that they face, that is what helps us grow and develop as people – hence why this made my favourite quote for Day 2 of this tag.
I will be back again with another tomorrow for you guys. At the end of the three days I will tag the people I would love to do this challenge.
Thank you for stopping by!
